19th Hole Bar and Restaurant – A Night to Remember in Vilamoura’s Marina

If I head down to V-Town with my friends this is our main port of call. The location is right on the fabulous Vilamoura Marina, close to the Tivoli Hotel. If billion pound views are your thing, then this is THE location to be, from small sleek racing yachts to giant gin palaces abound. I am here early evening, my favourite time of day as the sun is setting. Already the sky is taking on a fabulous crimson hue. Families, couples, golfers, and expatriates that have finished work are coming into the bar and the restaurant at the 19th Hole. In amongst their merriment, they watch the day turn to night, as do I.
As a single diner, I do not feel lonely. Hollie, the totally barmy Vasco, and Maria (Vascoʼs mum) take turns in keeping me company and regaling tales and ditties of what has happened since I last saw them even though the bar and restaurant is packed. Special treatment you may say. No, not at all. If you were here last year, they would remember you, hug you like a bear and slap you on the back like an old pal! Iʼll cut to the chase and hone straight in on the food, to start giant tiger prawns in white wine and garlic sauce, Iʼm in heaven, and to follow the delicious peppered 300gm fillet steak with hand cut chips I ordered. The arrival of my lavish dish caused a stir with the exuberant group of 4 recently seated golfers who ordered the same. Cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth, it was just perfect. The portions are excellent, even the hungriest of men wont go shy here. For some unearthly reason I just couldnʼt fit in a desert…..yet!
I have decided to have my coffee at the bar as the band has just started playing. Tonight, its the Sun band. A seriously tight line up of drums, base, lead and amazing vocals. The atmosphere is electric, everyone dancing, singing, laughing, and having fun! The bar staff are on fire as they pour, mix and shake their way through the thirsty crowds. A good time is being had by all, including the fast and fabulous staff. Vasco grins as he pushes a small plate across the bar to me. I look, and I smile, apple crumble & ice cream, I love deserts 🙂
Quality food from 10am-11pm, and quality entertainment until 2am is what you get here in super comfy pub surroundings. Live bands 5 nights a week, and the forever funny local radio (Kiss FM 95.8/101.2) breakfast DJ is the karaoke king on a Monday and Tuesday if you fancy bashing out a few tunes. A full sized pool table, and all the sport keeps the guys happy. The 19th hole is a well known food and fun venue amongst the beautiful people too, so keep your eyes peeled…you never know, you might see me!! To reserve a table
